2008 Porsche 911 GT2...WOW!

I have been doing some reading lately about the 2008 Porsche 911 GT2 model. Europeancarweb.com has done a nice "first drive" review of the car. Seems to me that the Porsche 911 is the car to have. Granted I own a Boxster (which is nothing to be embarrassed about, I love my car), but I would kill for the Porsche 911. It is quiet possibly my favorite car that has ever been manufactured. The Porsche 911 both oozes sexuality with its sleek lines, and is fast enough and raucous enough on the road to feed any man sized appetite for speed. If only I could find a spare $191,000 I would go out and buy one tomorrow. This amazing sports car can cruise at 180 mph, and with the top speed at 205 mph, there is plenty of speed with this machine.

Would You Buy A Tesla Roadster Over A New Porsche?

All things considered the Tesla Motors has a cool idea for what a car should be. I am a fan of the business people behind the making of the Tesla Roadster car such as Elon Musk, but as the date approaches that the first Tesla is driven by a consumer, I ask myself, would I trade the opportunity to own a new Porsche in order to own a Tesla Roadster? I have to say that my answer would be a resounding no. I of course am making this judgement on the grounds of the car alone, and not the environmental advantages that a Tesla Roadster might bring. As an apple to apple comparisson I would take a Porsche 911 Turbo any single day over any new sports car out. Call me biased, but I am a diehard Porsche lover, and no new sports car, even with a cost of only $.02 cents a mile to drive would ever change the way I feel. That's just me though, I would love to hear all of your opionions.

Welcome To Spring In The Northeast...Porsche Season Is Here

There is nothing like the first really nice day of the year in the Northeast. The city comes alive, people are out and about, and it means that weekend driving can commence one again. My Porsche which has been off the road since the fall, can now be put back on the road, and I can again throw on my driving shoes and hit the road. It is a great, and humorous piece that every convertible owner should read. I just hope that the weather stays as mild as it has been, I would love to get out next weekend for a nice long drive to warm up for the summer driving season.

The Porsche Cayenne...The Best SUV Ever?

Is the Porsche cayenne the best SUV ever made? It just may be! As loyal Porsche owner since the mid 199o's I never thought that I would come to the day I would move to driving a Porsche SUV (I mean who thought there would ever be such a thing)? But since 2002 when the Porsche Cayenne was introduced I have held off even test driving it at my local Porsche dealer...until last Saturday. It was a beautiful day out, and my wife was feeling under the weather, which meant that my driving companion was out of commission for the afternoon. I went out to get some cold medicine to help her allergies, and the next thing I knew I was pulling into the Porsche dealership (I couldn't resist). I had seen the latest Cayenne commercials on TV and I needed to see what all of the hype was about.

I was driving a Cayenne S model. Inside it was beautiful, a sporty feel with the classic Porsche luxury amenities. I immediately felt at home in this new Porsche SUV. As we began the test drive I noticed the unbelievable pick-up this luxury sport utility possessed. I was surprised at how well it handled compared to the other SUVs I had previously experienced (mainly various Ford Explorer and Toyota SUV models). Like the sports cars they are so famous for this SUV truly felt sporty. With 385 horsepower, a V-8 engine, and a 0-60 time in only 6.4 seconds I knew that this would be the next car I would be buying myself. The sticker price was $69,300. If you want to experience an amazing luxury SUV that drives like a Porsche sports car, then don't wait for so long like I did.

The Porsche Boxster

The Porsche Boxster is a staple of the Porsche line of sports cars. The Porsche Boxster was the first car designed by raymond Barth designed from the beggining as a roadster vehichle. Previously all Porsche sports cars were based on hardtop coupes. The Boxster was intorduced in 1996 and became available commercially in 1997. This first generation Boxster was the 986, and featured a 2.5 litre flat six cylinder engine. The first generation Boxster was designed as a more affordable version of a Porsche car, but that maintained the luxury allure associated with the Porsche brand. The name of the Porchse Boxster comes from combining the words "boxer" (due to its shape), and "roadster."

In 2010 the new Boxster will appear with a brand new design. Since all previous generations of the car were essentially the same with only minor chnages, the new 2010 Boxster will see significant changes to the body. The 2010 is said to draw from the design of the current car, but will feature a larger engine and more horsepower.
